Why is this wrong?

To steal a quote from Chris Brogan who said,

I’m reaching out to shake your hand and you’re trying to put your tongue in my mouth.”

It’s just plain wrong. Yes, your “coach” told you to start doing it, but they probably meant to say “start doing it right”.

It’s also wrong legally. Just because you have someone’s email address doesn’t mean you can send them unsolicited bulk email.

Did you find my email on my website?
You can’t add me to your newsletter

Did you get it from my card?
You can’t add me to your newsletter

Did you get the list from someone?
You can’t add me to your newsletter

This might be important to know.
The penalties for violating the CAN-SPAM Act…

Each separate email in violation of the law is subject to penalties of up to $16,000!

The good news is that I’m not going to report you.
The bad news is that your newsletter is here.

Let’s just start doing this right. please?

“But there’s an unsubscribe link at the bottom…” doesn’t cut it.
